During COVID-19 lockdown I set myself a challenge to draw figures/forms/people as I'd like to get better at using figures in my illustrations. So when I received an email from The Royal Drawing School with a list of new 'lockdown courses' I decided to jump at the opportunity.
The course takes place once a week and runs for eight weeks. This is my second week and although I'm not a fan of Renaissance Paintings I am enjoying (virtually) observing and drawing from the paintings in The National Gallery. The tutors add context and give a brief historic account of their 10 chosen paintings for the lesson.
Here are my attempts...
Week 1
Alesso Balsovinetti: Portrait of a Lady
Week 2
Cranach: Cupid Complaining to Venus
