Illustrated Family History

I have been researching my family history on and off for a number of years. Earlier this year I thought it would be lovely to illustrate my research as a tribute to my ancestors and also as a visual keepsake for our children. I hand painted Selmar's portrait and the flowers. The handwriting and signature is his actual handwriting which I discovered in his Botany Text Books and a Notebook on a recent visit to South Africa. The newspaper clipping was also found pasted inside a text book of his. Victoria Johnson's Explore Florals class offered me the perfect opportunity to make this idea a reality. So here is my Maternal Great Grandfather, Selmar Schonland, who was a Botanist. I hope you like it :)
