This is the penultimate week of Lilla Rogers Make Art That Sells. The brief this week was to hand letter a title and text featuring our favourite town or city.
Whilst doing my research I was inspired by a variety of colourful photos featuring Cape Town. South Africa is known as the Rainbow Nation due to its diverse cultures and it is also referred to as 'the world in one country'.
The colours and textures in Grayson Perry's playful tapestry 'Comfort Blanket' was my inspiration for my map and I hope I've managed to capture the vibrancy of this wonderful city from its colourful people, nightlife and music scene to the mountain, beaches and water sport.
here is an article about the exhibition.

I also chose to hand draw all the elements (as seen below) using Promarkers, Sharpies and Stabilo fineliners. I scanned these sketches and assembled the final image using Adobe Photoshop.
