Digital Assemblage

Whilst painting strawberries I decided that instead of painting and combining all the elements of the fruit in one image I'd break the elements down into seperate parts which I'll later scan in to the computer and assemble the whole digitally.
During this process it quickly became apparent that the individual components have their own identities and, on their own, resemble a pattern. This discovery has been a revelation for me because I can now see how easy it is to create interesting patterns... something I've long admired in other artists' work, yet it eluded me for so long!!
