Meet the Makers

The definition of Craft is something made by hand using traditional skills.
About five years ago I quietly predicted that Craft would enjoy a revival. It's time seems to have finally come as the pendulum is swinging away from mass production and its cookie cutter products.
An article in this week's Sunday Times Home supplement entitled "This time it's personal" by Katrina Burroughs and Cally Law states "The best designer-makers are creating beautifully finished furniture and elegant accessories, ideal for the contemporary interior."
e-commerce webistes such as 'etsy.com', 'printsy.com', 'notonthehighstreet.com' all promote designer-makers selling a huge range of beautifully crafted, unique, authentic and affordable wares covering a wide range including original art, original hand-pulled prints, photography, jewellery, ceramics and much more.
